The Age-Old question...

Written on December 5th, 2007 by Evilwithin10. Edited on April 29th, 2008 as the Old World Switcher has been removed.

Is EvilSwitch Legal? You won't beleive how many times I get asked this, so I decided to make a page on it to make it clear, and hopefully put an end to people asking me that question :c

EvilSwitch Version 3 IS Legal - EvilSwitch Version 3 is nothing more than a browser integrated into a web page. Sure you can access RuneScape worlds directly if you know the URL or simply by typing a world number, but is it really any different from BOOKMARKING a RuneScape world from the main site? The main RuneScape site uses pages inside of an IFRAME and a JavaScript that disallows people to view the world outside of the IFRAME element and redirects them back to the main RuneScape page. Bookmarking a world saves the page for easy future use with the URL within the IFRAME stored in memory.

The Old world Switcher of EvilSwitch is ILLEGAL - The Old EvilSwitch Is Illegal Due to a change in RS Rule #7 made by jagex back in March(?) 2007 that states that 3rd party applications cannot contain links directly to the game world pages.

While EvilSwitch Version 3 may have the capability to go directly to worlds, it relies on USER INPUT just like a normal web browser like Internet Explorer or FireFox. Are Internet Explorer or Mozilla FireFox banned? No. But if you continue to use the old Switcher version of EvilSwitch, You do so at your own risk!

I Will not dictate which client you choose to use and how you will use them. The choice is yours. I am only providing you with options.
